James was fortunate enough to attend a CCARE workshop on Meditation and Flourishing conducted by Dr Richard Davidson and Rinpoche. It was a fascinating day of learning. James was also able to catch up with Yotam Heinberg (pictured bottom left with James). Yotam studies compassion and delivers Compassion Focused Therapy.

Dr Doty and James visiting Amma
Dr James Doty, Director of CCARE at Stanford University invited James to visit Amma when she was recently in California. Mata Amritanandamayi is known throughout the world as Amma, or Mother, for her selfless love and compassion toward all beings. Her entire life has been dedicated to alleviating the pain of the poor, and those suffering physically and emotionally. Amma is well known for giving hugs.
